In this tutorial, we will introduce basic concepts from business and managerial economics. First, we will characterize the difference between costs and expenses, between revenues and income. Then, we will clarify what categories of economic result are used in managerial economics. We will state the difference between net and gross profit. We will also focus on price in the form of a demand function. We will clarify the difference between calculating full and partial costs. In the second part of this block, we will deal with the nonlinear dependence of sales and costs on the volume of production and the maximization of economic result in the break-even point diagram.
This tutorial will introduce the main and secondary cost centers and relate them to primary and secondary costs. The issue of performance transfers between cost centers will also be an important area, and the superstructure, step and equation methods of performance transfers between centers will be explained. In the second part of the tutorial, we will also focus on the production process, production capacity, time funds and work in progress.
In this tutorial, we will focus on the economic result depending on sales and the use of this concept in practice. We will also clarify the issue of productivity and labor productivity. The use of economies of scale in business practice will be explained. Subsequently, we will list the areas of analytical activity and deal with supply activities.
