Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide basic information concerning cultural background studies of the Czech Republic in English. The individual lectures will introduce geography and natural beauties, history, culture, important personalities, tourism regions, sights and basic characteristics of gastronomy. The main aim is to inform students of cultural studies characterising the Czech Republic, of the most visited natural, cultural and social attractions and main tourist destinations as well as to widen and deepen their language skills especially in the area of understanding spoken and written English texts.
