Course objectives
The aim of the course is to make students familiar with the science and research methodology, processes and tools of research work and to make use the various information resources. Upon successful completion of the course students will be able effectively to find relevant information, to formulate research problem, research questions and their corresponding hypotheses, to choose the appropriate methods in basic and applied research to address systemic problems and will be also able to formulate relevant and valid conclusion for their dissertation and to participate in the solution of research projects.

  • 1. Cognition, science and research and their classification, basic concepts
    2. Methodology and methods of scientific research, ethics of science
    3. Formulation of research problems, objectives, questions and hypotheses
    4. Qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques of data collection and processing
    5. Institutional support of research, information system and evaluation of research results on university and national level
    6. Scientific research projects and their preparation
    7. Work with information sources
    8. Methods of literature citations
    9. Presentation of scientific work, the preparation of a research paper
    10. Presentation of results at scientific conferences or professional events
    11. Policies and procedure for writing a dissertation
    12. Active involvement in university research projects
