- Course objectives
- In this course students shall deal with the language of advertisement, cartoons, and fiction. The aim is to see translation as a replacement of a representation of a text in one language by a representation of an equivalent text in a second language. The students will engage in translation from English to Czech.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- identify and summarize the main features of successful translations;
- identify and describe the appropriate strategies for successful translations
- describe the factors that affect the success of a translation;
- apply theoretical knowledge to the preparation and presentation of their own translations - Syllabus
