Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve and develop the knowledge of the grammatical, lexical and syntactic systems of language in combination with the practice of the four basic language skills – reading, listening, oral and written expression, and especially the expansion of vocabulary, including vocabulary. The acquired skills will be further developed so that students are able to communicate in basic communicative situations and to understand professional texts.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to the course, literature and information sources, requirements for completion.
  • 2. First future tense. Verb tun.
  • 3. Word order in a subordinate clause. Nouns.
  • 4. Perfektum of modal verbs and verb wissen.
  • 5. Subject-verb matching. Pronoun adverbs.
  • 6. Phrasal verbs, nouns and adjectives.
  • 7. Word order in a question.
  • 8. – 9. Culture – basic definition, organization, terminology.
  • 10 – 11. Cultural heritage and its protection, basic terminology.
  • 12 – 13. Cultural tourism, main destinations and monuments in the Czech Republic.
