Course objectives
Students will learn to understand general typographic principles, get acquainted with high-typographic document creation tools. Learn how to work with a professional document and publication system.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- describe and apply general typographic principles and rules;
- create basic types of documents in LaTeX;
Syllabus
  • 1. Design of printed documents in the 21st century.
  • 2. Basic concepts and work in LaTeX.
  • 3. Document structure, automatic content creation.
  • 4. Formatting of text and paragraphs.
  • 5. Text environments, enumerated lists and footnotes.
  • 6. Creating tables.
  • 7. Inserting pictures, editing headers and footers.
  • 8. Page layout and editing.
  • 9. Typesetting of technical text.
  • 10. Bibliography.
  • 11. Typesetting of special documents - letter, presentation.
