- Course objectives
- The course Communication Skills focuses on the importance of communication in the modern world, both in interpersonal relationships and in business, marketing, and presentations. Upon completion of the course, students will master the basic elements of interpersonal communication in oral, written, and telephone forms. They will be able to identify socio-cultural differences in several major world regions. Graduates of the course will be able to structure and formulate both monologues and dialogues effectively. The course includes interactive, practical demonstrations and exercises.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will master the basic elements of interpersonal communication in oral, written, and telephone forms and understand their significance in various contexts, including business, marketing, and presentations. They will be able to structure and formulate both monologues and dialogues effectively and communicate efficiently while considering the socio-cultural differences of major world regions. They will learn to analyze communication situations, adapt their speech to different target audiences, and apply appropriate communication strategies. Through interactive exercises, they will acquire practical skills in both professional and informal communication.

- 1. The Importance of Communication in the Modern World (Sales, Advertising, Self-Presentation, Interpersonal/Business Relationships). 2. The Development and History of Communication (Communication as a Means of Conveying Information), Icons, Indexes, Symbols. 3. Typology of People and Their Communication Styles. 4. Practical Exercises: Communication Styles in Practice Based on People Typology. 5. Verbal Skills (Arguments, Objections, Influence, Manipulation). 6. Active Listening. 7. Practical Exercises: Crocodile River / Balloon Flight. 8. Nonverbal Communication. 9. Communication in Stressful Situations. 10. Practical Exercises: Solving Crisis Situations in Communication. 11. Intercultural Communication. 12. Marketing Communication (Techniques, Communication Elements, Negative Advertising). 13. Summary of the Semester’s Content, Space for Discussion, Final Evaluation.
