Course objectives
Visual sociology focuses on the field of visual interpretation of photographs, photographic files and documentaries. In this course, knowledge from general sociology, sociology of culture, sociology of art, sociology of architecture, sociology of lifestyle, sociology of family, sociology of landscape, etc. are intertwined and these findings are placed in the context of reportage photography, subjectively documentary photography, social photography. , photos of landscapes, cities, villages, architecture and portrait photography. Attention is also focused on social phenomena and processes in a specific environment, which as the main socio-cultural determinants significantly affect the formation of a person's personality, his activity, behavior, experience, lifestyle, values, etc.
Learning outcomes
The student will understand the key concepts of visual sociology with a focus on photography.
