Course objectives
The aim of the course is to develop students' knowledge acquired at secondary school. Emphasis is placed on the grammar-lexical aspect of the language and the harmonious development of all four language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) so that students can communicate comprehensively and grammatically correctly in everyday situations, both verbally and in writing at a given language level. The topics covered reflect the first two lessons of the recommended literature. They will be expanded to include additional materials reflecting the specific needs of students in order to deepen their knowledge of English-speaking countries in Europe and the world, and to reinforce awareness of the existence of different cultures and societies in the contemporary multicultural world. The output level of the course corresponds to the B1 + level and the aim of the whole series of English language courses I. - V. is for students to achieve the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
