Course objectives
The students will gain fundamental knowledge of data networks design and installation. Students will also become familiar with practical issues that arise in building and using data networks.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: - design a data network and create apropriate documentation of the network - have a good knowledge of a valid and recommended technical standards and programs for the design of data networks - design and describe the interconnection of buildings in the premises, structured cabling in the building, connections to LV power distribution, overvoltage protection and grounding of the data network system - be able to work with and connect structured cabling with telecommunication equipment and use of LAN for monitoring and security of the building (EPS, EZS)
Syllabus
  • 1.structured cabling system according to its extent and used technologies.
    2.Programmes for the data networks proposal and project documentation.
    3.Summary of valid and recommended technical standards.
    4.Summary of assembly technologies and standardized implements and tools.
    5.The most using elements of structured cabling - summary of producers.
    6.Summary of ČSN EN and branche standards.
    7.Proposal and installation of spinal networks, connection of objects in camps.
    8.Proposal and installation of structured cabling in object.
    9.Attachment on power strength NN distribution, protection against overvoltage, grounding od data
    network.
    10. Proposal of the data distributor and date center.
    11. Structured cabling system and ATM devices link and using LAN for monitorint and safety of the
    object.
    12. Proposal and installation of WiFi networks, frequency spectrum division, Fresnel zones.
    13. Signal processing, source coding, channel coding, interlasing, modulation TDM, FDM, WDM, QAm,
    OFDM, CDMA
    14. Practical exercises.
