Course objectives
The course presents the issue of cultural heritage in relation to the current Czech Republic. It also provides initial competencies for the perception of cultural heritage, its comparison and appreciation in the European and global framework, for its perception in relation to the concepts of local - regional - national cultural heritage. Against the background of the general framework of cultural and historical development, it recapitulates knowledge in relation to the concepts of culture and cultural heritage, deepens the ability to distinguish and compare cultural values from different historical periods and different artistic-historical styles. It presents selected cultural heritage in Bohemia, Moravia and Bohemian Silesia in terms of its typology and chronological development (Romanesque and Gothic monuments, architecture, art and material heritage of the Renaissance and Baroque, cultural heritage of the 19th century and modern times), pays attention to UNESCO monuments in the Czech Republic.
Learning outcomes
Get an overview of the resources of the most important monuments in the Czech Republic He will know the history of monument protection and the current monument protection system in CR. Will be familiar with the topology of monuments (especially immovable). They will learn about the international framework for the protection of monuments - institutions and their scope of operation in the Czech Republic. Gain knowledge about monuments on the UNESCO list in the Czech Republic. With this knowledge, he will be able to join various activities related to the protection of monuments, both at the official level and in the sphere of their promotion
