Course objectives
The task of the course is to guide students through the theoretical foundations and practical examples of the application of the latest geoinformatics methods in archaeology. Students first get to know the basic concepts of geoinformatics and the use of spatial data in archaeology. They acquire knowledge about technical equipment, software tools and spatial data, appropriate for archaeological purposes. They will become familiar with the basic procedural parts of working with geodata, i.e. with collection, management, analysis and visualization of digital spatial information. As part of the seminar, specific cases will be demonstrated practical use of GIS (geographical information systems) technologies and methods in archeology on individual cases especially in the area of ​​data collection and processing, analysis and visualization, as well as the creation of cartographic map output in a GIS environment. Furthermore, students will be introduced to the possibilities of using photogrammetry and 3D visualization in archaeology. Learn to create 3D model and combine it with photogrammetric data. They will also be introduced to the possibilities of presenting 3D models on internet, using 3D printing technology or virtual reality. At the end of the course, they will be introduced to the technology eye-tracking and its possibilities in archaeology, including a practical demonstration.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to work with geodata - collection, management, analysis and visualization of digital spatial information.

GIS in archeology 3 – Application of geoinformatics in archaeology 7. 3D documentation 1 – Collection of archaeological data using aerial photogrammetric methods 8. 3D documentation 2 – Collection of ground photogrammetry data and their processing into a 3D model 9. 3D documentation – Basic theoretical principles of aerial laser scanning 10. 3D documentation – Data processing from laser scanning 11. 3D visualization 1 – Creating a 3D model 12. 3D visualization 2 – Options for presenting 3D models 13. Use of the "eye-tracking" method in cartography and summary.
