- The prerequisite for completing the course is knowledge of the basics of law, general characteristics of public administration, defining the state administration and self-government and also the executors of public administration.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issue of control in public administration. To point out the authorized subjects and institutions in the field of control in the exercise of public administration. For example, the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the Supreme Audit Office, the Czech National Bank, the Public Defender of Rights, the courts and the public. Pay attention to the authority, responsibility and scope of administrative legal activities in public administration.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course the student will be able to: - identify and summarize the importance of control in public administration; - identify and explain the different types of control and their use in practice - prepare an essay defining the difference between control in public administration and supervision carried out in public administration - the role of the controller and the controlled, especially in terms of the rights and obligations of both parties

- 1. General characteristics. Basics, sources and principles of control 2. Control and supervision from the perspective of public administration theory 3. The meaning and division of control in public administration 4. The Parliament of the Czech Republic and public administration 5. Courts and Public Administration 6. Supreme Audit Office and Public Administration 7. Public Defender of Rights 8. Public control of public administration 9. Administrative control and its stages 10. Control of management according to the state budget, control of management according to territorial budgets 11. Management control according to the state budget, management control according to territorial budgets 12. Summary of the material covered
- Teaching methods
- The course consists of lectures, discussions in the seminar component, project proposal, participation of practitioners including study of resources. Students will use legal regulations to study.
- Assessment methods
- The course ends with an examination (oral, written or a combination of both forms). The teacher takes into account the quality of the seminar paper.
