- Expert knowledge:
Students know the fundamental texts dealing with the problematics. They will get the knowledge of demograpic terms, basic problems and they will understand the basic demographic models. Students understand the phenomenas, connected to demography. Besides all they will be able to understand the migration processes, it´s influence on the society, especially it´s influence on the EU member states.
Expert skills:
Students are able to interpetate demographic trends in the EU member states and besides all in the Central-European countries. They are able to indetify the key demographic factors and to make a critical analysis.

- Course objectives
- Students get basic knowledge of main problems of population in Central-European Area. They will understand the demografic structures and it´s importance to economic, social development of countries and regions. The key elements of demographic situation in Central-Europe will help them to understand the politics of Central-European countries dealing with the demographic problematics. Lectures will help them to understand the structural policy of the EU towards the Central-European countries. Students get knowledge of the demographic trends in all EU member states and Central-European memberstates in particullar.

- 1. Introduction to demography, demographical models.
2. Characteristic of Central-European countries in the background of the EU. Human potential of states and its development.
3. Genesis of nowadays demographic situation of Central-European countries.
4. Structure of the population of Central-European countries and its economic and societal consequences.
5. Natural increase, conditions and its changes and prognosis.
6. Demographic processes and the situation at the labour market.
7. Migration processes - basic conditions, internal and external migration.
8. Migration processes - comparison and analysis of the Central-European countries.
9. Processes of population ageing.
10. Urban population - urbanisation processes and its consequences.
11. Rural population - basic problems.
12. Demographic perspectives of the Central-European countries in the EU.
