Course objectives
the goal is to provide students with a basic orientation in the legal system and the most important legal regulations, and at the same time shape their ability to apply this knowledge in the performance of social work and in civic life. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the meaning of law and the position of the legal order in the state. Within this framework, he deals with legal theory, basic legal concepts and institutes, and also the systematics of law. The legal system is presented by distinguishing the levels of public and private law, by differentiating the regulation of procedural law from the regulation of substantive law and by sectoral division of the legal order in connection with the differences in individual circles of social relations as the subject of regulation of legal branches. The framework of interpretation is given by the constitutional order of the Czech Republic. Students will be able to classify the researched problem in the relevant legal area and mark the legal regulation to which it falls.
Learning outcomes
The student knows and understands the principles of the rule of law, basic concepts of legal theory, sources of law, the constitutional order of the Czech Republic and the structure of the legal order of the Czech Republic. At the same time, he will get a basic orientation in public and private law. The course introduces students to the meaning of law, legal theory and the legal order, and covers basic legal terms and the systematics of law. When interpreting the legal system, the distinction between public and private law is emphasized, as well as the distinction between procedural law and substantive law applied in social relations.
