- Course objectives
- The goal of the subject is to deepen the knowledge of general English and to introduce Professional English in common situations in professional environment to enable students to be ready for successful entering international labour market. All language skills are developed - speaking, reading, listening, and writing, with the emphasis to speaking.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course students will be able to use vocabulary needed for corporate culture, customer care, and career, to cope with office etiquette, to explain a corporate organigram, to name advantages/disadvantages of call centres, to present the four SWOT categories, to deal with problems in customer service - both in oral and written ways, to name common benefits and perks provided by companies, competencies and skills of an employee, to describe the role of social media in careers.

- 1. Corporate culture ? Work culture and placements
Company culture. Dress code. Office etiquette. Unwritten rules om the workplace. Past tenses and advice structures. A placement report. Report structure.
2. Corporate culture ? Work organization and responsibility
Company departments. Job titles. Ways of describing responsibilities. Words relating to work organization. Organigram. Meetings one-to-one. Adjectives to describe behaviour. Diplomatic expressions.
3. Customer support ? Call centres
Customer service technology. A SWOT chart. Outsourcing. Questions and instructions. Yes/No questions. Wh- questions. Making requests. Giving instructions.
4. Customer support ? Customer service and telephoning, dealing with problems
