Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain basic concepts, principles and importance of social responsibility of organizations and provide an overview of the concept´s development, the current international and domestic approach, including the definition of appropriate tools and methods for performance evaluation with emphasis on modern trends in area of corporate social responsibility.

  • 1. Characteristics and definition of corporate social responsibility and alternative concepts
    2. The importance of corporate social responsibility for the development of organizations
    3. Corporate social responsibility in the Czech Republic
    4. International approaches and initiatives of corporate social responsibility
    5. The basic pillars of corporate social responsibility (economic, environmental and social)
    6. Implementation methodology of corporate social responsibility into practice
    7. Stakeholder characteristics and their interaction on corporate social responsible activities
    8. Corporate responsibility standards (Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, SA 8000, AA 1000, Standards ISO 9000, 14000, 26000)
    9. Performance evaluation of corporate social responsibility (KORP, EFQM, LBG, indexes evaluating corporate reputation, FTSE4Good, DJSI, KLD, data from rating agencies, etc.)

Seminar paper designed to evaluate three pillars of corporate social responsibility (economic, social and environmental) in business practice.
Seminar paper focuses on the area of corporate social responsibility and business activities (economic, environmental and social) with practical application on the selected subject. Seminar paper check before exam. E-consultation with the teacher. The exam (written test) to verify basic knowledge of the entire scope of course with the addition of oral examination for a deeper knowledge verification.
