Course objectives
The subject gives students a general view of managment techniques that includes methodology and presentation of activities, rhetoric and communication. It makes students familiar with correct methods of presentation, non-verbal communication, coping with manipulation andbasic assertive behaviour. Students will learn correct technique of presentation and argumentation, and tips for work with an audience. Students will focus of self-knowledge, managerial self-reflection and ability to know other people. The subject approaches typology of manager personality and their application in practice.
Syllabus
  • 1. Communication and communication techniques, listen and active listening, asking question, communication barrier.
    2. Assertive communication in management practice.
    3. Non-verbal communication (presentation) in management practice.
    4. Presentation techniques in management practice, stages and structure of presentation, tips for creating successful presentation.
    5. Visual representation in presentation, medium and their utilization in presentation.
    6. Oral presentation and work with stage fright, rhetoric, reaction to questions from audience.
    7. Manager, his personality and competence, self-knowledge and self-reflection.
    8. Ability to know other people, personal stereotype, preferred style of perception and its utilization.
    9. Typology of personalities in managing practice.
    10. Hermann's typology of personalities and typology of personalities from Jung.
