Course objectives
It is a practical seminar focused on the basic concepts of directing, dramaturgy, scenography and production with an emphasis on the attention of the stage space. The whole study is a developed development (cultivation) of stage meaning in terms of discovering the (dramatic) possibilities of the text on the example of the established scenic situation by its analysis in time and space (scenic performance) and its representatives in mutual dialogue.
Learning outcomes
Ability to interpret scenes whose authors are themselves the listeners in the respective roles (as directors, playwrights, scenographers, actors). Creative collaboration for staging at least one (developed) stage scene. Ability to theoretically reflect on their own work and the work of their colleagues.
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic theatrological concepts. 2. Feeling of space (developing a sense of space and an acting partner). 3. Directing as a craft (basic principles of mise-en-scène). 4. Everyday life as a source of inspiration for the development of one's own situation. 5. Playing your own situations in space with colleagues (communication director-actor-playwright). 6. Analysis of dramatic text (with emphasis on dramatic and situational potential). 7. Dramaturgical-directing conception (occupation, spatial layout of the situation). 8. Acting as art and directing as art (basic differences between the work of an actor and a director). 9. Realization of dramaturgical-directing concept (production provision for realization of spatial layout, etc.). 10. Theatrical reflections as art (developing the ability to perceive and formulate what is really happening on stage). 11.
