Course objectives
In the subject, students follow up on the knowledge gained in the compulsory subject History and Reality of Italy 1 and 2. The aim of the seminar is to provide an overall picture of Italy including, in addition to other geographical knowledge, also knowledge about the important economic and social aspects of the country. Emphasis is placed on understanding the functioning of the political system and the role of the mass media in the present time. The content of the subject is partly changeable. It can be supplemented with topics from the students themselves according to their professional interests. Student presentations on the agreed topic will be the content of the seminars.
Learning outcomes
The student knows:
- describe the Italian peninsula;
- analyze the Italian economic situation;
- understand the state order;
- specify Italy´s role in the European Union;
- get to know the mass media in Italy;
- identify the journalistic language and the language of advertising in the corresponding texts;
- prepare a presentation on the agreed theme.
