Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the problems of pro-family policy and its place in the governance of cities and municipalities. Students will learn about the historical context, background and tasks of state administration in relation to social work in planning, promotion and implementation of pro-family activities. They will also be encouraged to actively monitor the developments in their places of residence, to see social work as a discipline directed towards the development of society and the local community.   • 2. Development of pro-family policies in the EU and the Czech Republic
  • 3. EU and Czech documents
  • 4. Social and sociological background of family policy, Istanbul Convention, family protection, income of men and women, child groups
  • 5. Family policy frameworks and principles. Structure of family policy
  • 6. Family cycle as a basis for the creation of pro-family policy documents of cities and municipalities
  • 7. Sandwich family - as a model of help and support
  • 8. Issues of reconciliation of family and professional life - ethical dilemmas
  • 9. Delegated competence of the state administration to local government in the framework of family policy

  • 11. Approaches of private entities to the family, family policy in state and commercial organisations
  • 12. Family friendly community model
  • 13. Examples of good practice, comparison of selected cities
Teaching methods
The basic materials are presented in an interactive curriculum, as there is no comprehensive literature on the subject yet.
